Violinist Angharad Davies and double bassist Werner Dafeldecker draw upon a wealth of experience in experimental and improvised music. Both internationally renowned for their highly refined sonic language and their subtle sensitivity to microtonal structures. Together, they explore the acoustic potential of their instruments in depth.
At the core of their work is a shared investigation of the spaces between pure tuning and microtonal beating, controlled gestures and spontaneous sonic development. Extended playing techniques are employed alongside a deliberate reduction to the sonic vocabulary.
